30 DEC 2014 UPDATE: AIR ASIA DISAPPEARANCE
As the search for the missing Air Asia passenger jet enters its third day... it's been revealed a student at Monash University was on board the flight.
News Corp's reporting Kevin Alexander Soetjipto had been studying on a student visa, and was due to graduate in 2015.
Soetjipto is originally from Malang in Indonesia, and had been travelling from there to Singapore with his family when the plane disappeared.
The pilots had only just requested a change in flight path due to bad weather, when the plane disappeared completely from radars.
So far, searches have revealed no leads. An Australian search plane had spotted some debris in the Java Sea, but that's been dismissed as nothing to do with the missing plane.
Meantime, investigators are looking into an oil slick to work out whether it's from a boat, or a plane.
A total of 162 people were on board the flight when it disappeared.. including 17 children and 1 infant.
